Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora

Your 2 day trip from Marrakech to Zagora begins with an early departure as we cross the scenic Tizi-N-Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), the gateway to southern Morocco. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views and explore picturesque Berber villages perched on the hillsides. Before reaching the desert town of Ouarzazate, we’ll stop for a guided visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Ben Haddou, a remarkable fortified village featured in films like Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven.

Continuing through the vast Draa Valley, you’ll witness its lush palm groves, ancient kasbahs, and traditional mud-brick villages. Upon arrival in Zagora—the last town before the open desert—you’ll meet your camel caravan and set off on a peaceful ride into the Sahara as the sun begins to set.
